Surf at the Washout is knee-to-thigh high. Should push a waist high set on the incoming.
It’s closing out at the lower tide, but might get better for a longboard session as the tide comes in.
Winds are north/north-west and surf zone is clean. Look for south winds at 5 to 10 knots this afternoon, bumping up small surf at the evening’s low tide.
Tide is coming in, and high tide will be at 1 p.m., and low tide will be at 7:09 .m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.3 ft at 8 seconds in a small east/south-east swell. There is a small, short period east south-east wind swell mixing in.
There’s a little longboard wave out here today. We expect another small south-west wind swell ahead of a cold front building Saturday afternoon. This builds overnight Saturday, with a quick clean up Sunday morning as surf size will begin to drop and winds come offshore. Sunday morning on the incoming tide might be your best chance for some decent surf. We see a small, choppy, fresh north-east wind-swell to start the new work week behind this cold front.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will prevail before a cold front sweeps through the area Saturday night. Dry high pressure will return Sunday and persist through much of next week.”
It’s a chilly 50* and mostly cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 63* today with clouds most of the day.
Water temperature is 59*.
Sunrise is at 7:08 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:13 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
