Good morning this is Chad, with your Folly beach surf report and forecast For Friday, Dec 6th at 9:00 a.m.
Surf at Folly is cold and crappy. Absolutely no reason to put on a wetsuit and freeze your arse off today.
Winds are light from the south at about 17 mph out of the NNE with 22mph gusts. Winds stay northerly dropping to around 10mph and not as gusty
High tide will be at 11:09 a.m., and low tide will be at 5:33 p.m right at last light.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 6.9 ft at 7.1 seconds out of the NE. Blowing right by us and headed south.
Waves still not looking too good for the weekend. Looks like we might finally get a break in the flat spell and have a little wave. The big difference is the water temperature has dropped significantly since our last swell. Make sure you have all your neoprene gear lined up. Next weekend is showing some promise.
Water temperature is around 61. It’s 36 and windy with a wind chill of 23. Todays high is 47. Better bundle up for that beach walk today.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will build into the region through the weekend. A storm system could impact the area early to mid next week.”
Sunrise is at 7:08 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:13 p.m.
