Good morning, this is Charlie with your Folly Beach surf report and forecast for Friday, December 13th at 8:45 a.m. from Second street.
12 Days of Stoke! Swing by the shop before Christmas and snag some deals you won’t want to miss.
The ocean has gone on vacation and it’s colder out there than your ex’s heart. Bring a wetsuit… or maybe just stay in bed.
There is some small wind swell sets rolling in – nothing to get excited over right now, but there is a little movement in the waves for a change. Keep an eye out because it looks like we might have some swell coming in.
Winds are currently out of the north-east at 14 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. The winds will stay in the north-east throughout the day with winds getting up to 18 mph and gusts up to 25 mph.
We will have a low tide at 12:00 p.m. and a high tide at 5:59 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 5.2 feet at 10.8 seconds in a south-east swell.
Get ready to paddle out because it looks like we have some solid wind swell headed our way. It should start picking up tonight and into tomorrow with more action expected throughout the weekend and into next week.
Our guys and gals at NOAA predict a “High pressure will extend across our area into the first half of next week, while a weak trough is just off the coast tonight through the middle of next week. A cold front might impact our area during the middle of next week.”
Water temperature is currently 59*.
It’s 45* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 56* and some of that wind to pick up throughout the day.
Sunrise was at 7:13 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:15 p.m.
Thanks for tuning in for the Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
