Good morning this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop report and forecast for Friday, December 15th at 8:00 a.m.

Surf is thigh-belly high some waves out there, nothing great still got some drift to it and wind isn’t ideal.

Currently winds are still pretty strong 15-20mph out of the NE

We have a high tide just after report time, Low tide will be at 3:54 P.m.

The Edisto buoy is currently reading 6.7 ft at 9 seconds from the ESE

Surf is beginning to rotate more favorably ESE showing thigh-belly high nuggets. Still  a bit of drift but not as bad as its been. This should continue into tomorrow. Sunday we have a Low pressure that intensifies rapidly in the eastern gulf that shoves off Northern Florida off the SE coastline. Winds will become a Gale from the ESE for our marine area and rapid building conditions to overhead victory at sea conditions before days end Sunday. As this system moves north there is a slight chance of a late evening cleanup session on Sunday. Monday we look to have some leftovers with winds remaining from the west keeping it on the clean side. This swell will be fading out all day Monday. High pressure then returns back.

NOAA Forecast: “ High pressure will prevail to our north through tonight. A strong coastal storm will bring impacts to our region this weekend, followed by high pressure next week.”

Current water temp: 60*.

It’s sunny and 48* this morning. We have a high of 61 with sunshine all day.

Sunrise is 7:10 a.m., Sunset 5:13 p.m.

That’s all from us at Ocean Surf Shop. We’ll check back tomorrow.
