Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, December 3 at 8:30 a.m.
We just received a big shipment of Catch Surf boards, including Logs, Fish and Beater Originals. We are also stocked up on FCS travel bags and 3D-fit day bags. Come by and check it out.
Surf at The Washout is knee-high. I guess you could say it’s picked up a little, but it’s still pretty small.
Winds are very light from the west at 5 knots, and surf zone is very clean.
Look for winds to shift south at 5 to 8 knots today, and we see some bump in a very small surf-zone today.
Tide is going out. Low tide will be at 12:49 a.m. high tide will be at 6:42 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 1 ft at 11 seconds in a long-period south-easterly swell. There is a small, short-period south-westerly wind 3.3 ft at 5 seconds.
We have knee high surf today, and surf looks to stay pretty small this weekend. We see an approaching cold front early in the work week, when swell will increase slowly Monday, building Tuesday in an easterly swell. This continues mid-to-late week as unsettled weather moves into our marine area, and finally pushes up some rideable surf of varying quality.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through the weekend. A cold front could impact the area early next week, followed by a series of disturbances which could potentially impact the region during the latter portion of next week.”
It’s a beautiful morning at the beach. It’s 57* and sunny. Look for a high of 65* and sun today. We have beautiful beach weather with not many people around.
Water temperature is 57*.
Sunrise is at 7:04 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:13 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
