Wave Forecast: Knee-Thigh+
Traffic: None
Parking: Plenty.
Dangers: None.

Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop report and forecast for Friday, Feb 9th at 8:30 a.m.

The Pier is looking pretty clean with waves around knee-thigh with a waist set. Still some swell in the water but you need to wait for the sets. Little fat with all the water underneath it this morning. Washout may start breaking a little better as the tide has receded a little since a really full high tide.

Winds are currently slack. Winds will stay fairly light this morning and swing out of the south 5-10 knots in the afternoon.

First high tide was at 7:13 a.m. Low tide is 1:22 p.m. We have a high tide today at 7:20 p.m.

Edisto Buoy is reading 3.6 feet at 10 seconds east/south-east medium period swell.

Still some swell in the water, this morning has some gems sneaking through coming off the high tide. Tides have a large swing to them so it may drain it out. Keep an eye on the incoming tide. Could be fun if winds stay light. This weekend we see south-west winds which will add some texture. May be a few bumps out there, but don’t expect too much. Sunday/Monday could pick up a little. We’ll keep you updated.

Water temp is around 55*.

The NOAA Marine Forecast for our waters calls for: “High pressure will prevail through late week, before a storm system impacts the area early next week. High pressure will return for the middle of the week.”

It’s 50* and cloudy. Look for a high of 64* today and partly sunny. Nice way to kick off the weekend.

Sunrise is 7:08 a.m., Sunset 5:59 p.m.

That’s all from us at Ocean Surf Shop. We’ll check back tomorrow.
