Good morning, this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, February 26 at 8 a.m.
We finally have a fresh stock of SofTech softboards and all sizes of body boards back in the shop. Come check them out and get ready for spring-time surf before they sell out again! We also just received a shipment of Future fins! Come check it out!
Surf at The Washout is ankle-to-knee high.
Winds are out of the east-north-east at 6 knots and surf zone is fairly glassy, with some very light texture.
Look for winds to increase to 5-10kts or throughout the day, east-south-east winds later this afternoon and evening. Surf will likely remain small and semi-glassy into the evening, as the winds are calling to die down as the sun sets per usual.
High tide this morning is 7:00 a.m. Low tide is at 1:14 p.m., and high tide tonight is at 7:22 p.m.
Virtual buoy readings are showing 1.7 ft. at 8 seconds in a small, medium period east, south-easterly wind swell.
We see winds remain out of the east-north-east this evening switching to the west-south-west into Saturday morning, making for smaller swell size to what we see this morning. Look for an Atlantic high pressure to remain on the coast over the weekend, setting up for some poor surf conditions. As we move into the week, Monday and Tuesday are promising outlooks for potential swell, as a cold front approaches the coast around that time. We’ll keep you posted!
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A weak cold front will stall across the area today before shifting north of the area tonight as Atlantic high pressure builds and prevails through the weekend. The next cold front will move through Monday with a likely storm system to follow as early as Tuesday.”
It is 57* this morning with sunny skies. Look for the sun to keep shining for the remainder of the day, with a high of 70*.
Water temperature is 53*.
Sunrise is at 6:49 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:15 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
