Good morning this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, January 27 at 8:00 a.m.

Surf at Folly this morning is knee high, perhaps larger, but breaking very shallow.

Winds are low, keeping conditions in a glassy state. However, the swell size is lacking and weak.

Winds are west, north-west at around 7 knots this morning. Look for winds to continue in this direction roughly 5-10 knots all day.

Tide is incoming with a high at 12:27 p.m. Low tide this afternoon at 6:25 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.3 feet at 5 seconds in a short period, west/north-west wind swell, pushing away from our beaches.

As the high pressure sets up, waves look to maintain small size for the next couple days. Look for another quick shot of south-west wind swell for your Monday ahead of an approaching frontal boundary. Winds go strong north-east behind this front and we see choppy, high angled north-east wind swell build Wednesday and Thursday of next week.

The NOAA Marine Weather forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will persist through most of the weekend. A storm system will bring unsettled weather late this weekend and into early next week.

It’s 34* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 56* and sun with some scarce clouds throughout the day.

Water temperature, it’s 55*.

Sunrise is at 7:18 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:49 p.m.
