Time of Report: 8 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Knee-to-thigh.
Traffic: Not too bad.
Parking: Some.
Dangers: some thunder showers moving in.

Good morning this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, July 28th at 7:30 a.m.

Coming to you from Folly the surf has picked up slightly overnight showing knee high on this mornings low tide. Look for slight/gradual building trend today due to a offshore high pressure producing a small trade-swell for us.

Winds are light out of the south-east making for some textured surf but its not hurting it to bad. Winds are forecasted to remain the same for the remainder of today.

Low tide is at 10:09 a.m. High tide is at 4:48 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 feet at 6 seconds in a short period swell.

Again surf is showing a bit more life this morning, nothing great but something for the longboards. Knee high look for some thigh high sets as the tide comes in later this morning. A gradual increase in surf is expected due to an offshore high pressure creating some trade-swell for us this weekend. Surf should top out around thigh-waist high on the better tides. Nothing great but enough to get wet. Also we have a low currently developing in the eastern Caribbean that models have staying on the weaker side as it moves westward towards our swell window over the weekend. I do think we will get some mild ground-swell mid week next week as a result. Also looks like some remaining moisture off the SE coast which were seeing today in fact could form into a weak low as well early next week. A bit of uncertainty but regardless I think well be surfing the next few days, just keep your expectations in check.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “Weak low pressure will pass across the region today into Saturday. A cold front will then move into the region early next week. High pressure is expected to return midweek.”

Water temperature is around 85*.

It’s 78* with on and off showers this morning. Look for a high of 83* with on and off rain showers coming from offshore.

Sunrise is at 6:29 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:22 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
