Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, July 3 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly is knee-to-thigh high in small N/NNW wind swell, ground swell mix.

Winds are north-east at 6 knots and the surf is clean. Bring the long-board if you want to get wet and shows potential for long-board waves as the tide comes in late morning.

Winds should continue from the east today at 6 knots, side-shore. Surface texture more noticeable in the afternoon hours with a very slight drift up the beach.

We have a low tide at 12:58 p.m., and a high tide will be at 7:40 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.5 feet at 5 seconds in a south south/south-west wind-swell, with a south-east swell 1.3 ft at 9 seconds.

Surf is running flat today and unfortunately looks to stay the same most of this comings work week. A weak upper level through will linger over our marine area over the first half the work week bringing with it surf averaging knee high. There is one tropical wave to keep an eye on in the south-Central Atlantic, but it’s not looking like it’ll create any surf in our near future.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A stationary front will linger south of the area into this weekend. Low pressure will then bring unsettled weather to the region during the early to middle part of next week.”

It’s 81* and sunny this morning. Look for a super-hot, humid day with a  high of 87*

Water temperature is 81*.

Sunrise is at 6:17 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:32 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
