Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, July 7th at 9:00 a.m.
Waves at the washout are not looking too good. Its pretty weak and breaking close to shore. Still better to be at the beach today enjoying the sea breeze.
Winds are southwest at 11kts with gust to 14kts. Looking for this to swing more southernly later in the day at around 10kts
Today we have a high tide at 11:56 a.m., low tide follows at 5:57 p.m. Next high tide will be after midnight at 12:27 a.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.6 feet at 8 seconds in medium period east/southeast swell.
Looking pretty weak for the rest of today into Saturday. Look for a possible groundswell to increase Sunday to early in the week as a low could possibly form off of a stalled frontal boundary. Winds likely to be westerly during that time around 10kts. Other than that, your looking at very small surf for the work week, with hot weather and storms.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “An inland trough will persist through Saturday. A weak cold front will approach early next week and meander nearby into mid week before dissipating.”
Water temperature is around 85*
Its 85* and sunny. Temps will eventually climb to a high of 89* with a heat index just around 100*. We should have a good breeze to cool you off a little after a jump in the ocean. Better than being inland today.
Sunrise is at 6:16 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:31 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
