Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, June 11 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly is thigh-to-waist high this morning with a stomach high set in a choppy south-west wind swell. Looks kind of fun for a summer style, choppy, south-west wind-swell.

Winds are south-west, 10 to 12 knots, and surf is choppy. There is a slight drift up the beach, south-to-north.

Winds continue in from the south-west at 15 knots today with gusts to 20 knots. We see choppy surf in the thigh-to-waist high range as the tide comes in late day.

We have a high tide at 9:18 p.m., and a low tide will be at 3:02 p.m. The next high tide is at 9:30 pm.

Surf is rideable but not great this morning. Winds trend south-west to end the work week, and look for thigh-to-waist high south-west wind-swell in the forecast with overall choppy conditions. This continues through Saturday. Not anything big, but likely rideable on the right gear. Surf falls off for Sunday and into the next work week after a frontal passage, when winds go north-east.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “Atlantic high pressure will prevail today. A weak cold front will drop in from the north over the weekend, before another front approaches the region by the middle of next week.”

It’s 83* and sunny at the beach. Look for a high of 87* with mostly rain/thunderstorms later today.

Water temperature is around 80*.

Sunrise is at 6:11 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:28 p.m.
