Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, June 12 at 8:30 a.m.

New men’s Vissla Boardshorts and apparel has arrived at the shop, as well as their line of short-sleeve button-downs. We’ve also got new Freestyle watches in the shop. Come see what’s new.

Waves at Folly this morning are knee-to-thigh high. The tide just started coming in, so it might push a slightly bigger set for the long-board glide mid-morning. It’s lost a lot of the punch it had yesterday.

Winds are west/south-west – side-shore – at 8 knots, and surf zone is semi-choppy.

Winds are forecast southerly at 5 knots today, so surf should stay fairly clean all day, with some bump in it.

We are coming off a low tide at 8 a.m. We see a high tide at 2 p.m. The next low tide will be at 8 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 ft. at 5 seconds in a short-period, south/south-east swell.

Most of the south wind-swell we saw yesterday has dropped off, but there is a leftover long-board wave if you need to get wet. Look for smaller – but rideable – south-swell leftovers this morning as the tide comes in. Unfortunately, it’s looking like small, long-board style waves with a light easterly flow for most of the weekend, with a stationary front bringing some unsettled weather. Probably time to break out the long-board for typical summer-time conditions.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A stationary front will linger across the region into early next week, bringing unsettled weather. An upper level disturbance is expected to develop over the Southeast by the middle of next week.”

It’s 79* and cloudy this morning with a few showers in the area. Look for a high of 80* and humidity today with clouds. There is a chance for thunderstorms today, with some heavy rain in certain areas.

Water temperature is up to 82*.

Sunrise is at 6:10 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:28 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
