Good morning this is Luke the kook with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report for Friday, June 16 at 8:30 a.m.
New Catch Surf Log boards arrived yesterday. Seven foot, 8’0”, and 9’0” are in stock. Come check the out.
Surf at Folly this morning is thigh-waist high with a few belly high nugs on this mornings high tide. Looks sort of fun although looking pretty soft with this mornings high tide.
Winds are south-west around 10mph overall surfs pretty clean with some surface texture.
Winds will generally remain the same through the day.
We had a high tide just before report time. Low will approaching at 1:17 p.m. with high tide concluding the day at 7:45 p.m
The Edisto Buoy is reading 5 feet at 6 seconds in a short-period south-west wind swell.
Still a wave out there this morning from locally produced SW wind-swell South-west wind swell drops for late Saturday into Sunday, but we could see a little trade wind swell as a front approaches early week, with continued typical south-west wind waves for mid-week. Also, tropics appear to heat up late next week. Multiple models now suggest a moderate low to develop and head towards eastern US coastline. It’s a ways out but something to keep our eyes on for sure.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “Low pressure should prevail across the region early next week with a front approaching the local area during the middle of the week.”
Water temperature is around 77*.
Its 72* with mostly cloudy conditions. Look for a high of around 85* with clouds mixed with sun.
Sunrise is at 6:11 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:28 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
