Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, June 30 at 8:45 a.m.
Surf at the Pier this morning looks fun as the tide heads out. It’s thigh to waist, with a stomach set and the longboarders are having a blast.
Winds are light north/north-east at 8 knots, and surf zone is nice and clean. We see winds rotating to the south-east at 5 to 10 kts this afternoon. Expect choppier surf and continued trade-wind swell aas the tide comes in late afternoon.
We have a low tide at 11:29 a.m. high tide will fill in at 6:11 p.m. Low tide at midnight.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 feet at 10.8 seconds in medium period southeast ground swell.
Fun longboard surf today. If the wind stays offshore into midafternoon there may be a little push that could be fun on the bigger boards. Looking ahead, the end of our week looks to stay down with a chance of decent trade-swell from an offshore high pressure for Saturday into Sunday. Early next week, we see typical summer south-west wind swell filling back in. Tropics are quiet for now. Well keep you posted.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail through early next week. Upper level disturbances could affect the area mid to late next week.”
Water temperature is around 80*
Its 83* with plenty of sunshine this morning. It’s humid. Temps will eventually climb to a high of 89* with sunshine persisting. It’s going to be a beautiful day at the beach.
Sunrise is at 6:15 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:31 p.m.
