Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, June 4 at 8:30 a.m.

Come check out the new line of Mick Fanning Softboards that just arrived, including a few DHD fish models.

Surf at Folly is waist-to-stomach high with a larger set at the lower tide this morning. It’s looking like it might pick up as the tide comes in later this morning.

Winds are south-west at 15 knots, and surf is bumpy and choppy with a slight drift up the beach.

Winds rotate south at 10 to 15 with a higher gust to 20 knots early this afternoon. Surf-zone should get choppy and wave should pick up some as the day wears on.

We have a low tide at 10:17 a.m., and a high tide at 4:41 p.m. The next low tide at 10:56 p.m.

We see increasing south wind-swell this afternoon with choppy conditions at the higher tide. High pressure sets up to our north, as a mid-level low pressure system develops to our south-east late in the week. This will cause a bit more significant on-shore flow from the south-east into the weekend. Winds trend south at 10 to 15 knots for the period, so expect some chop in the swell. Small weak south swell should prevail into early in the work week. Not big, but likely rideable on the right gear.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “Atlantic high pressure will prevail through the middle of next week.”

It’s 78* and mostly cloudy at the beach. Look for a high of 80* and some rain this afternoon.

Water temperature is around 79*.

Sunrise is at 6:12 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:24 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
