FRIDAY, JUNE 9TH

Clean.

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Flat. Maybe knee.
Traffic: Moderate
Parking: Plenty.
Dangers: None.

Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, June 9th at 8:30 a.m.

We just received a shipment of Solid Surfboards. Great grovelers and mini-Simmons styles. Gary Wilson also just dropped off about 20 boards, so come on in and blow some of that graduation money your parents said you should save for college.

Surf at Folly this morning is pretty flat to knee high. Bring the big board if you want to get in the water. Overall its fairly clean.

We have winds out of the north/north-east at 10 kts. Look for winds to stay north-east around 5-10 kts then a little more easterly as the day goes on.

Low tide was at 7:00 a.m. We have a high tide at 1:10 p.m., and a low tide at 7:10 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.3 feet at 6 seconds in a short-period south-east wind swell.

Today and into the weekend, high pressure will set up, making for less wind and small surf. Late weekend into the start of the work week we should see a small building trend as a weak front and offshore high pressure should generate some onshore flow creating some wind/trade swell. Well keep you posted overall nothing to get to excited about.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A cold front will slowly move south of the local area this morning, followed by high pressure into Saturday. A front should lift north through our region Sunday, followed by cold front arriving from the west Monday into Tuesday. The front could linger across the region into the middle of next week.

Water temperature is around 77*.

Its 72* with sunshine, but a little hazy.  Look for a high of around 78* with sun and some passing clouds.

Sunrise is at 6:11 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:26 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
