Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, March 25 at 8:30 a.m.
New Carver 2022 Surfskates have arrived at Ocean, including the Kai Lenny and JOB models. Come get tuned up for surf.
Surf at The Washout this morning is knee-thigh high and semi-choppy. It’s kind of dumping at the lower tide but could get a little better form as the tide rolls in later today.
Winds are west-southwest at 6 knots, and surf zone is semi-choppy.
Look for west winds at 10-15 knots becoming south-west at 15-20 knots and gusty this afternoon. Expect continued south wind-swell in the water with choppy conditions today.
It is dead low tide at time of report. We have a high tide at 2:31 p.m., and a low tide at 8:42 p.m. today.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2 feet at 7.7 seconds in a short-period south-east wind swell.
Look for choppy, south-east wind swell all day. We see a dry cold front associated with a high pressure system expanded over the region. Winds will continue out of the west/south-west through Saturday then more northwest on Sunday. Waves stay in the knee-thigh with a waist set possibly through Saturday. Sunday will be small but possibly clean for some longboard cruisers throughout the day.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will begin to expand into the region today while a dry cold front crosses the region tonight. High pressure will continue building over the weekend and persist through the middle of next week. A system will then impact the area near the end of next week.”
It’s currently 57* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 68* with sunshine and breezy.
Water Temperature is around 64*.
Sunrise is at 7:17 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:34 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
