Good morning this is Luke your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, March 10 at 7:30 a.m.
Surf at Folly this morning is around knee high and weak overall with onshore winds.
Winds are south south-west around 15-20mph and the surf is choppy.
We expect north-easterly winds at 15 to 20 this morning, with winds switching more easterly and falling off to 10 knots late day.
We just had a high tide is at 9:22 a.m. with a low dropping out at 3:35 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.3 feet at 11 seconds in a easterly swell most of which passing our shores.
Surf looks pretty ugly this morning knee high slop. Winds are pretty good onshore perhaps it might build a little today, Likely nothing to write home about. If you want some surf, Florida might be the best call as the forecast calls for a north-east swell this weekend into early next week. We see another shot of short period south wind swell Monday morning on the incoming tide as a cold front passes through the area. Then into the middle of next week, it looks pretty dismal, with north winds and cooler weather.
The NOAA Marine Weather forecast for our area calls for: “ A cold front will impact the area Friday into Friday night, followed by high pressure over the weekend. A low pressure system will pass across the region early next week. High pressure will return thereafter.”
It’s cool 59* and rainy. Look for a high of 67* with rain today clearing out late this afternoon.
Water temperature is up to 65*, but it’s likely to drop a few degrees in the coming days.
The days are getting longer. Sunrise is at 6:37 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:23 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
