Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, March 13 at 8:30 a.m.
We have tons of new board-shorts and apparel for men and women just arriving at the shop. Lots of new spring inventory in stock, and still plenty of last seasons walk-shorts on sale. Come get ready for warmer weather at Ocean Surf Shop.
Waves at Folly this morning are waist to stomach high with a slightly bigger set and are choppy at the mid-tide this morning.
Winds are south-west this morning at 10 knots, and are expected to pick up some from the south-west today at 10 to 12 knots. Look for choppy and bumpy surf this afternoon.
We have a high tide at 11:37 a.m., and a low tide at 5:43 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is down and not reading, but we are seeing east/south-east wind swell today average waist high and it should continue as high pressure is set up off the Mid-Atlantic, pushing in some surf.
South trade-wind swell continues today ahead of a cold front. Look for south-west winds to pick up a bit this afternoon. We should see mixed direction easterly wind-swell for the weekend as a front stalls and lingers just south of our marine area. The proximity of the front should continue winds from the east/north-east. There should be some surf to ride, but the form and the swell direction won’t be quite as nice as it has been during the work week. This swell should continue mixed from the north-east to start the work week as the front lingers.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will persist offshore today before a cold front passes through tonight. The front will then linger over or just south of the region into the middle of next week before possibly returning back north as a warm front late in the week.”
It’s 63* with partly cloudy skies this morning. Look for partly cloudy skies and a high of 72* today. We have perfect beach weather.
Water temperature is around 60*.
Sunrise is at 7:30 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:26 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
