Clean.

Time of Report: 9 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Flat. Maybe knee.
Traffic: Not too bad.
Parking: Plenty.
Dangers: None.

Good morning, this is Charlie with your Ocean Surf Shop Surf report and forecast for Friday, March 14th at 9 a.m.

Surf on Folly is looking clean but pretty flat today. If you’re really looking to get into the water, I’d recommend a high volume long board. It’s shaping up to be a beautiful day out. If you can, maybe just hang on the beach and catch on rays instead.

Winds are currently super low at 1 mph from the NW with gusts up to 4 mph. Winds will switch to the ESE as we get further into the afternoon at 8 mph with gusts up to 13 mph.

We had a high tide right before the report at 8:47 a.m. Look for a low tide this afternoon at 2:53 p.m followed by a high tide after dark at 9:12 p.m.

Edisto buoy is reading 2 ft at 8.3 seconds in a medium period SSW swell.

Our guys and gals at NOAA predict “A weak cold front will approach from the north today, before lifting back north as a warm front tonight. A stronger cold front will move through the region on Sunday, followed by High pressure.”

Surf conditions look to improve as we head into the weekend. Strong onshore winds are going to pick up tomorrow and into Sunday. Looks like we will have some sizeable waves but it doesn’t look like it will be super clean. There’s a chance the winds could shift offshore just before sunset on Sunday, offering a possible window for a session. Stay tuned and keep an eye out for the report.

The water temperature is around 58*.

It’s currently 56* and sunny with a high of 64*. It’s a beautiful day to be on Folly.

Sunrise was at 7:30 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:27 p.m.

Thanks for tuning in for the Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
