Good morning this is Luke with you Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, March 3rd at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at Folly is knee high and semi clean early. Look for conditions to build rapidly later this afternoon.
Winds are light out of the south this morning. Look for winds to increase significantly through today SSW 20-30mph.
We have a low tide at 11:31 a.m., and, high tide will fill in at 5:27 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 feet at 5 seconds in a short-period south-west wind swell.
Surf has come down a little bit from last night showing knee high and weak overall. Our low pressure associated with that cold front weve been watching all week is about to arrive and build our surf quickly through our Friday afternoon. Winds should remain strong onshore until later tonight. A cleanup sometime on Saturday is expected and could get good. Surf then drops on Sunday into early work week.
The NOAA Marine Weather forecast for our area calls for: “A cold front will move through tonight, followed by high pressure through early next week. Another front will cross the area on Tuesday. High pressure will return for the middle of next week.”
It’s 68* and sun mixed with clouds. Look for a high of 78* with clouds mixed with sunshine.
Water temperature is up to 65*.
The days are getting longer. Sunrise is at 6:47 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:16 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
