Friday May 11
Semi-choppy
Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report for Friday, May 17th at 8:00 a.m.
Surf at Folly is pretty flat maybe knee high with light onshore winds. Not looking to hot.
Currently winds are NW at 8mph. Look for winds to rotate to out of the south around 5-10mph this afternoon
We have a low tide at 10:22 a.m., and a high tide at 4:44 p.m. today.
The Edisto buoy is reading 2.0 foot at 7 seconds from the south/south-east in a medium period swell
Surf will become small to start Friday morning, but by days end we can look to see some onshore flow begin and run into Saturday. Looks like we should have some unstable weather with onshore winds picking our surf back up a notch for the later weekend.
According to NOAA; “High pressure will prevail today and persist into Today. A storm system will affect the area this weekend, followed by high pressure from the north next week.”
Water temperature is hovering right around 73*, so spring suits and jackets are the call for mornings.
It’s currently 69* and sunny. Today we see a high of 78* and sunny.
Sunrise 6:19 a.m., Sunset 8:13 p.m.
That’s all from us at Ocean Surf, check back tomorrow.
