Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday the 13th, another lucky day to be a surfer.

We have about 20 brand new G. Wilson boards that just arrived in the shop. Longboards, mid-lengths fish and some shortboards. Come see what’s new and get ready for summer surf.

Waves at The Washout this morning are flat-to-knee high.

Winds are east/north-east at 15 knots and surf is choppy and bumpy and weak.

Look for winds to continue east at 10 knots this morning, going south-east later today, This should push up just a little more swell as the tide comes in late day.

Tide is going out. Low tide will be at 12:08 p.m. High tide will be at 6:37 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.6 feet at 6 second in a mixed, short-period east/north-east wind swell.

Not too much surf today, but the swell should begin to rotate more on-shore Saturday, especially into the afternoon as wind become south and low pressure moves on-shore to our south. We could potentially see OK surf Saturday afternoon as the tide comes in late day. Surf should continue Sunday as winds stay light early in the day. Nothing too big, but likely rideable for the weekend warrior. This lazy south-swell should continue into the first part of the work week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “Low pressure will drift west through the area on Friday, then Atlantic high pressure will rebuild through much of next week.

It’s 69* with rain this morning. Look for a high of 74* today with rain in the morning and some clearing in the afternoon.

Water Temperature is has dropped to 72*.

Sunrise is at 6:22 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:10 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
