Glassy, somewhat weak/soft

Time of Report: 7:30
Wave Forecast: Knee-waist
Traffic: None
Parking: Lots
Dangers: None

Good morning, this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, May 14 at 7:30 a.m.

Surf at The Washout this morning is knee-waist high, with rare occasional larger sets. Looks pretty clean this morning, accompanied by a beautiful offshore/side-shore wind holding the wave form up nicely.

Winds are north/north-east at 5-10 knots, and surf zone is glassy. Waves average in the waist high range, with a slight bit of weakness due to this morning’s incoming high tide.

Look for winds to pick up from the east, north-east late day at 10-15 knots. Surf-zone should stay semi-glassy today and increase in size, but expect the chop to roll through as the wind increases in speed.

We have a high tide at 10:16 a.m., and low tide will be at 4:12 p.m.

Look for some solid rides out in the lineup today. This east/north-east wind development proposes some good conditions as the day goes on with the hope for larger gems as the tide fills in this late morning. The forecast should maintain some size as the week progresses, with potential for some more swell mid-week. Keep an eye on the cams for the tide push today, as it should hopefully punch into the waist-chest high range more consistently. We will keep you posted as the forecast continues to develop.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “High pressure will continue building into the region today and will remain the primary weather feature into the middle of next week.”

This morning it is sunny and a chilly 61*. Look for sun to remain and a high of 72* this afternoon.

Water temperature is up to around 72*.

Sunrise is at 6:21 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:11 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
