Good morning this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, May 18 at 7:30 a.m.
Surf is around thigh-belly high on this mornings high tide. Its looking ok a little soft with the tide, but it is packed out there for what it is.
Winds are north north-east around 5-10mph its semi clean. Look for winds to trend more northerly today surf should only get cleaner.
We had a high tide around 8:30 a.m., and low tide is at 2:28 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.9 feet at 10 seconds longer period E swell.
Surfs picked up a bit around thigh-belly high this Friday morning. Look for surf to begin backing off a bit once the tide starts to drop later this morning. Surf should get smaller as we head into the weekend although a few longboard waves should still be on offer. High pressure sets up early next week, and we see surf increase again in a drifty north-east wind swell. Honestly, head to Florida early next week, for some fun, rideable surf.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A cold front will push across the forecast area Saturday night into Sunday, followed by the return of high pressure through the middle of next week.”
Its 69* and cloudy at the beach this morning. Expect clouds to continue today with temps reaching 78*.
Water temperature is 75*.
Sunrise is at 6:19 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:14 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
