We will be open for our summer hours starting today. We’ll be open from 9:a.m. – 6 p.m. daily, but will close at 5 p.m. on Sunday and Memorial Day. Come see us when you get to the beach.
Waves at The Washout this morning are waist-to-chest high. Look for a bigger set this afternoon as we see strong south winds ahead of a cold front. There are strong thunderstorms at the beach this morning.
Winds are south at 20 to 25 knots, and surf-zone is very choppy and drifty.
Looking for winds to continue south at 20 to 25 knots, and we likely see a choppy surf zone all day. s
Tide is now going out. We have a low tide at 12:23 p.m., and a high tide at 6:24 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 5 feet at 6 seconds in a shorth-period, south/south-east wind swell, which is building.
Surf increases in a choppy south wind swell today with choppy conditions. This wind swell cleans up and begins to drop on Saturday. Hopefully there will be some clean leftovers Saturday morning before the surf fades out late day. Surf looks to fall off for Sunday and into the first part of the work week as high pressure sets up over our marine area once again. Surf looks small into the middle of next week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A cold front will move through the region today, bringing unsettled weather. High pressure will then prevail through early next week, followed by a summerlike pattern.”
It’s 76* with light rain and storms on the horizon. Don’t look for weather to change much today with a high of 79* and lots of storms.
Water Temperature is still around 80*.
Sunrise is at 6:14 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:20 p.m.
