Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, November 27 at 8:30 a.m.
We will be open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for normal operations today.
We received a limited number of Album, Catch Surf and Ben Gravy soft-boards. Come get them before they are gone.
Surf at the Folly Beach Pier is Knee-to-thigh high with a rare waist set.
Winds are west/south-west at 5 knots. Surf is side-shore, but pretty clean early this morning.
Look for winds to rotate westerly at 10 knots this afternoon. And we fairly clean surf today.
We have a low tide at 11:47 a.m., and a high tide at 5:51 p.m.
There is a mix of very small south-east swell and short period south swell at the virtual buoy for today, so not much swell rolling off-shore today.
Surf looks to fall off today into Saturday, before a strong cold front approaches on Sunday, when wind swell will be on the increase. Look for big, choppy south-west wind swell on Monday, before surf goes flat Tuesday behind a cold front as strong westerly winds blow down the swell.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A cold front will move offshore today followed by high pressure. A strong storm system will effect the region Sunday night into Monday. Cold high pressure will then slowly build in and persist through the week.
It’s 68* warm and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 73* today and partly cloudy skies. It’s a nice Thanksgiving at the beach.
Water temperature is around 65*.
Sunrise is at 7:01 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:13 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
