Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, Nov. 8th at 8:30 a.m.

It’s getting colder, and we have lots of jackets and flannels from all of your favorite surf brands. We also have a great selection of booties, hoods and gloves out on the floor, so come get your cold water gear while the selection is still good.

Surf at The Washout this morning is averaging knee high. It’s getting beat down by strong north winds.

Winds are north at 20 to 22 knots, and surf is side-shore and fairly clean, with plenty of drift north-to-south, down the beach.

Look for winds to continue north at 15 to 20, with similar conditions all day.

We have a low tide at 10:41 a.m., and a high tide will be at 4:57 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 5.2 ft. at 6 seconds in a short period north/north-east wind swell, most of which is passing by our beaches to locations south of our waters.

A strong cold front overnight has brought northerly winds which should continue into the weekend, when we see strong, high angled north swell and strong north winds for Saturday, fading on Sunday. Hopefully some of this north swell will wrap more in our direction for Saturday, but it will mostly push swell south to Florida and Puerto Rico. There will likey be some waves around this weekend, It’s just not the best swell angle for Folly Beach, as is usually the case with a strong north/north-east wind.

It’s 59* and cloudy with showers this morning. Look for a nice day with sun behind clouds and a high of 60*.

Water temperature is slowly dropping, now 69*, dude.

Sunrise is at 6:42 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:23 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
