Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, November 12 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at The Washout is waist-to-stomach high with a chest set. It looks pretty fun this morning as the tide starts to come in.

Winds are west/south-west at 5 knots, and surf zone is semi-clean at the lower tide this morning, but it’s closing out some. It should get better form as the tide comes in.

Look for west winds at 5 to 15 knots, going north-west after a cold front passage. Surf should be blown down at the low tide late day.

We are just coming off a low tide, and high tide will be at 2:33 p.m. The next low tide will be at 8:39 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 4.6 ft at 7 seconds in a medium period south/south-east wind swell with a long-period, east/south-east ground swell component reading 4 ft at 11 seconds.

There’s some fun surf on the incoming tide this morning with winds beginning to rotate off-shore and pick up some early afternoon. If you can get on it this morning, get out there, because after a cold front passage this morning winds will trend off-shore Saturday into Sunday. Surf looks small for the next few days with off-shore flow and no real swell-makers on the horizon.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “A cold front will move through this morning, with another cold front moving through Saturday night. Cool and dry high pressure will then prevail through mid-next week.”

It’s 67* with mostly cloud conditions this morning. Look for a high of 70* today with clouds moving out for afternoon and lots of sunshine.

Water temperature is going down. It’s now 60*.

Sunrise is at 6:47 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:20 p.m.
