Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, Nov. 22 at 8:30 a.m.

We will be having our annual “Schwack Friday” sale the day after Thanksgiving. We’ll have 25% off men’s and women’s foot-wear and apparel, and $100 off of any new board in the shop, including $40 off of any soft-board. There will be lots of other deals, so come check out the sale.

Surf at Folly this morning is knee-to-thigh high with a slightly bigger set. It’s closing out at the morning’s low tide, but might have potential for a long-board glide before the wind picks up this afternoon.

Winds are slack this morning. Surf zone is sheet-glass clean.

Look for south-west winds at 10 knots this afternoon, gusting to 15. We see choppy, small south-west wind waves this afternoon.

We have a low tide at 9:45 a.m., and a high tide at 3:54 p.m. The next low tide is at 10:12 pm.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 ft. ft. at 9 seconds in an east/south-east, medium period swell.

A few long-board gliders are possible as the tide comes in late morning. We see south-west wind chop up the surf later today. Swell picks up overnight on Saturday in a choppy, short-period south-west wind swell ahead of a cold front on Saturday night. Winds go strong off-shore from the west Sunday morning, and we see rapidly dropping surf Sunday afternoon as south-west wind waves clean up and drop throughout the day. High pressure sets up again on Sunday, and surf drops off to start the next work week. So if you’re going to try and get some rideable surf, Sunday morning might be your best bet.

Its 55* with sun this morning. Look for a great beach day with a high of 72* and sun.

Water temperature is now 57*

Sunrise is at 6:56 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:14 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
