Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, October 15 at 8:30 a.m.
The Carolina Surf Film Festival will take place at Mex 1 Cantina on Saturday night. Come check it out.
We have received tons of new boards over the past two days. Boards from Gary Wilson, Solid Surf, Torq along with softboards and bodyboards from SofTech. We are finally stocked WAY back up, so come check it out.
Surf at the Washout is knee-high with a rare thigh set. It’s closing out at the lower tide this morning, but shows some potential for a longboard glide as the tide comes in late morning.
Winds are west/north-west at 5 knots and surf zone is super clean.
Look for moderate south-east winds at 10 knots this afternoon making surf bumpy and semi-choppy.
Low tide is at 10:18 a.m., and high tide will be at 4:56 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 3 feet at 7 seconds in a medium period south-east swell.
There might be a little something for the long-board glide as the tide comes in mid-morning. Small and semi-choppy We see overall small conditions to end the work week with beautiful beach weather as high pressure sets up over our marine area for the work week. A cold front approaches during the weekend, and surf stays small and choppy Saturday ahead of the front. We see more high-pressure late Sunday and to start the work week with much cooler weather on tap. Surf is looking small for the next week, too. Tropics are quiet for now.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through tonight. A cold front will move through the area Saturday evening, followed by high pressure for most of next week.”
It’s 72* and sunny this morning. Beautiful fishing weather. Look for a high of 79* today with sun and some scattered clouds moving in later today. It’s a perfect fall beach day.
Water temperature is 76*.
Sunrise is at 7:24 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:46 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
