Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, October 25 at 9 a.m.
We have our boardshorts and bikinis marked down at least 20%. We have a great selection so stop on by and enjoy this warm weather. We also just received tons of “Ocean Surf Shop – Folly Beach, S.C.” hoodies for men and women. Come check out the new styles.
Surf at The Pier is knee high with a thigh set and draining out at the low tide. It’s been getting good on the incoming tide this week, so might be a fun wave to be had late morning.
Winds are slack this morning, but expected north-east at 10 knots, going south-east later.
We had a low tide this morning at report time, High tide will be 3:30 pm., and a low tide at 10 p.m.
Edisto Buoy is reading 3.9 feet at 10 seconds in long period east/south-east swell. So, there is some swell at the buoy, and might be a fun little wave later.
Should be a fun little wave out there late this morning as the tide comes in.
Our guys over at NOAA predict that a “High pressure will dominate the region through Saturday. A cold front will then move through the area later this weekend, followed by cool high pressure from the north.”
Swell is dropping from Tropical Storm Oscar as the low races north/northeast today. We see some lazy south wind swell for Saturday with warm weather but hope for a longboard glide with choppy conditions by Saturday afternoon as south-west winds pick up ahead of a cold front. North-east winds will follow behind the front and the first part of the work week sees choppy north-east wind swell for our beaches. This rotates more onshore late week as a frontal boundary lingers off-shore and a tropical low is forecast to come east out of the Caribbean and near DR/Puerto Rico. See how it develops. Not looking like many clean conditions next week, but we’ll keep you updated.
It’s 67* and Sunny. We see a high of 80*. It’s a great day to be on Folly!
Sunrise is at 7:32 a.m., Sunset 6:35 p.m.
