Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, Oct. 21 at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at The Washout this morning are once again flat.
Winds are north-west at 5 knots, and surf zone is perfectly clean.
Look for north winds at 5 knots this morning becoming easterly at 10 knots this afternoon. This will add slight surface chop to small surf later today.
We have a low tide at 11:18 a.m., and a high tide will be at 5:36 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.3 feet at 8 seconds in a very small, medium period east/south-east swell.
This weekend we see drifty, north/north-east wind swell begin to build on Saturday afternoon. There will probably be something to ride, but likely not much to write home about. This wind swell continues to build Sunday and into early next week. Late Saturday into Sunday looks to be the best hope for some surf, but nothing too great. Central Florida might be the call for waves over the weekend.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “Dry high pressure will remain over the area through next Tuesday. A cold front could move through mid-week.”
Water temperature is running around 70*
It’s a chilly 50* and sunny this morning. Look for a sunny day with cool temperatures and a high of 68*.
Sunrise is at 7:26 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:43 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
