semi clean becoming choppy for afternoon
Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, September 13 at 7:30 a.m.
We have all of our men’s board-shorts, hybrids and walk-shorts marked 20% off at the shop. As well as our Fall gear filling up the shop!
Surf at The Pier this morning is running knee to thigh high. It’s breaking right on the beach at high tide this morning. Look for surf to pick up some throughout the day.
Winds are east/north-east at 5-10 knots, and surf zone has some surface chop.
Look for winds from the north-east at 10 to 15 knots with choppy surf by late morning.
We had a high tide at 8:05 am, and low tide will be at 2:00 p.m. Full moon today
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.6 ft at 7 seconds in a ESE swell.
Surf is showing knee-thigh+ this morning at the pier. Look for swell to begin to fill in later this afternoon as TD9 moves closer into our window and intensifies. Look for surf to build throughout the weekend in SE swell from TD9. Conditions are in the air as models aren’t currently agreeing on path. We will keep you posted either way it’s a good wave maker. Also Eastern tropics are firing up as well two systems to monitor but they are a ways out. All eyes on TD9 for the short term wax up the sticks lady’s and Gents!
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A weak front will drop into the area today and tonight. A tropical wave over the Bahamas could drift into the area late this weekend into early next week. High pressure will then build in from the north mid to late next week. Refer to the latest advisory on Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine issued by the National Hurricane Center.
It’s 76* at the beach this morning and sunny. Look for a hot day with a high of 87* and sun today.
Water temperature is 83*.
Sunrise is at 7 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:29 p.m.
