Surf at The Washout is knee-to-thigh high with a waist-high set this morning and closing out some at the lower tide. It show a little potential as the tide rises late morning and south-east wind swell builds some.

Winds are south-south/east at 10 to 15 knots, and surf is choppy/bumpy.

Look for south-east winds at around 10 knots today, with a semi-choppy, bumpy surf-zone.

Low tide is at 9:11 a.m., and high tide will be at 3:57 p.m. The next low tide is at 10:04 p.m.

Edisto Buoy is down, but virtual buoy is showing 3.5 ft at 4 seconds in a building, short-period south/south-east wind swell.

We could see some south-east wind swell pick up a bit today, building into Saturday. Look for wind-swell into the waist/stomach high range with south winds keeping surf semi-choppy for your Saturday. Surf looks a bit smaller Sunday and into the start of the work week in lazy south trade-wind swell. The tropics are finally getting quiet, for a time. Surf should pick up again Tuesday in a choppy south-west wind swell ahead of an approaching cold front.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Low pressure will track well north of the area today. Weak high pressure will prevail this weekend. A cold front will shift through the region late Tuesday into Wednesday next week, followed by high pressure through late next week.”

It’s 78* and cloudy this morning, with a few light showers in the area. Look for a high of 81* with a 50% chance of a shower today.

Water temperature has dropped with the cooler weather, is 75*.

Sunrise is at 7:10 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:10 p.m.
