Dangers: None.

Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Friday, September 29th at 8:30 a.m.

Folly turns 50 this weekend come celebrate!

Surf looking decent this morning early. Thigh-waist high in high angled NE wind-swell. Be mindful todays strong tides with the Harvest moon, NE swell and dropping tides generally don’t mix well.. But there is a wave out there early and its looking sort of fun.

Winds are north/north-east 10-15mph today but its not hurting it to bad.

We just came off a high tide. Look for low tide at 1:45 P.m. and another high tide after sunset at 8:02 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.9ft at 6 seconds in short period ENE wind-swell.

Our wind-swell from the past few days is still sticking around although its beginning to loose its steam. Still showing thigh-waist high on this mornings high tide. Surf should get smaller as we move into the weekend as this wind-swell will die out. We have Tropical Storm Phillipe and Tropical storm Rina about to enter the eastern Caribbean Island chain. Rina is predicted to fizzle out shortly. Phillipe on the other hand looks to hang on and move slowly just north of the Caribbean islands. I’m still skeptical on what were going to get but its something to watch. Theirs been not a lot of consistency in the models to give any good answer just yet. Other than this current wind-swell, Phillipe is our next hope. Pray for surf.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A wedge of high pressure will build into the region today and holds into early next week, while a broad trough of low pressure persists well offshore.”

 Water temperature is around 78*.

It’s 71 and cloudy. Look for a high of around 80* today with clouds giving way to more sunshine later.

Sunrise is at 7:11 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:10 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
