Good morning folks, this is Luke Da Kook with your surf report & forecast for Sunday, May 18 at 7am.

Semi-choppy

Time of Report: 7
Wave Forecast: Knee.
Traffic: Not too bad. getting worse through the day
Parking: Some. limited later
Dangers: None.

Surf at the Pier is knee high with light to moderate SW winds on it. Not looking very good at the moment. Beautiful beach day shaping up.

Winds are SW 10-15mph today making for some textured surface conditions.

We have a low tide at report time,  high tide at 12:24pm with another low tide to close the day out at 6:29pm

The Edisto buoy is currently reading 3ft at 4 seconds in a short period SW wind-swell.

High pressure is currently dominating right over our marine area and surf is on the downside. Surf doesn’t look to get a whole lot of help looking ahead. Weds may be our only hope this week with a approaching front/System that looks to bring some brief SSW winds that may produce knee-waist high wind-swell. Not very exciting but summer time we take what we can get.

Our friends at NOAA say, “Broad high pressure will persist through the weekend. A weak cold front may push over the region early next week, remaining generally stationary through Tuesday. A stronger cold front is timed to sweep across the region Wednesday into Wednesday night, followed by high pressure through late next week.

It is currently 79*with a high of 84* and partly cloudy. Feels good outside but should be a pretty overcast day.

Sunrise was at 6:19am and the sunset will be at 8:13pm.

Thanks for tuning in for today’s Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
