Surfs looking fun, waist high or so winds are light side-offshore from the WSW looks like its worth a surf. Incoming tide should help if the winds stay down.
Light WSW winds this morning forecasted to remain light south today 5-10mph.
We had a low tide this morning at 8:50 a.m. Look for a high tide this afternoon at 3:28 p.m., followed by a low tide after sunset at 9:39 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is currently reading 5.2 ft at 7 seconds coming out of the S.
Some fun surf out there this morning get on it if you can. Surf lingers around tomorrow with stronger onshore winds developing. We have an area of potential tropical development just offshore the SE coastline. Latest model runs now more favorable of a low/Storm developing. Saturday expect increasing onshore winds ENE and building ESE/SE swell. Sunday hopefully the storm/system moves more northerly and we can get some offshore winds in the mix. Lots of uncertainty due to how close this system is to us, how strong it will be and the overall size and center of the low. Either way looks like we have a pretty decent wave maker coming in the days ahead. Wax em up and plan accordingly. Maybe that last 4th of July beer save for another day.
Our guys and gals at NOAA predict that: “A cold front is expected to move into the area today and could then linger along or just off the coast through the weekend”. This will make the pressure drop and add a cool feel to the air for a bit due to less humidity. With that said, not a ton of fun surf on the books right now.
Water temperatures are basically bathwater at this point, sitting at a toasty 84*
It is currently 78* and mostly sunny. Look for a high of 84* 50% chance of showers
Sunrise was at 6:17 a.m. and the sunset will be at 8:32 p.m.
Thanks for tuning in for today’s Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
