Good morning, this is Luke Da Kook with your Monday morning – June 29 – surf report and forecast.

We are still open. Our parking lot is open today as well. This, despite all of the heavy machinery parked on the West Center Street curbs.

Surf at the Pier is looking plenty of fun at the moment waist high glassy bowls winds offshore currently. More surf than we were expecting.

Winds are west at 5-10 knots, expected to become light out of the SE later today.

We have  a high tide at 8:05 a.m., low tide will be at 2:05 p.m., and we’ll have another high tide at 8:42 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6  feet ft at 5 seconds in a short period SW wind-swell.

High pressure sits over the central Atlantic producing a marginal trade-swell for the Lowcountry. We have a stalled frontal boundary offshore, and the National Hurricane Center predicts Disturbance Number 1 will form off of our coast along the front. This should help enhance waves along with the High pressure to our north. Small trade swell continues Monday. We see increased north-east winds Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing drifty waist high wind -hop conditions to the beach mid-week. We see continued trade wind swell late week after the north-east blow.

It’s a humid 85* with sunshine this morning.  There is a heat advisory today. Hot. Sun. and a high of 95*.

Water temperature It’s around 84*.

Sunrise is at 6:14 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:32 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
