Good morning, this is Luke Da Kook with your Ocean Surf Shop surf forecast for Monday, May 12th at 7:45am.

Choppy

Time of Report: 8 a.m.
Wave Forecast: waist to chest
Traffic: Not too bad.
Parking: Some.
Dangers: Storms in area lots of rainfall

Surf at the Washout has picked back up in fresh southerly localized wind-swell. Waist to chest high sets just a little wind and rain to contend with. Overall a fun session could be had in between rain squalls.  Nobody out.

Winds are SE 15-25mph today.

We have a high tide at report time,  an upcoming low tide is at 2:27 p.m. High tide is at 9pm

The Edisto buoy is reading 5.6ft @ 7 seconds in a short period swell out of the SE swell.

Unsettled weather and a broad area of low pressure move more easterly very slowly today winds have picked up SE as a result. This should generate a decent building trend with decent fetch until Weds. Waist to chest high choppy but manageable surf. Weds could clean up a bit. Most of this swell event will have moderate onshore winds but fun sessions should be had. Looking pretty flat after mid week so get it while you can as high pressure looks to build back in over our marine area. Cheers

Our guys and gals at NOAA say, “A front will remain stalled near our area through early next week. Low pressure will slowly move through Monday into Tuesday, followed by high pressure.”

It’s currently 70* and overcast with a slight drizzle. Lots of rain headed our way.

Sunrise was at 6:24 a.m. and the sunset will be at 8:08 p.m.

Thanks for tuning in for the Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.

Cheers!!
