Good morning, this is Luke Da Kook with your Ocean Surf Shop Surf Report and Forecast for Friday, July 17 at 7:30 a.m.

Surf at the Pier is ankle to knee high looking weak out there at the moment. Some Surf on the way though read on.

Winds are light and variable this morning expected to become SSW 10-15mph later today.

We have a high tide at 11:15 a.m., and a low tide at 5:11 pm.

Edisto Buoy is 1.3 feet at 8 seconds from the SE

High pressure sits over our general marine area today surfs pretty down this should trend into tomorrow. Sunday we start to pay attention as a stronger high pressure starts to build over the central Atlantic a slow gradual building trend should be expected in ESE trade-swell and localized SSW wind-swell.  Early work week thigh high surf continues to build to waist to belly+ by mid-week. Were also watching some slight rotation on the models in the NE panhandle gulf area as its an area to watch for potential tropical development. We will keep an eye on that. But for now looking confident we will have an uptick in surf next week nothing epic but enough to get the shortboards movin.

It’s a humid 83* with some sun and clouds mixed. Look for a high of 87*. Heat index should be in the upper 90s. It’s hot.

Water temperature It’s around 86*.

Sunrise is at 6:23 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:28 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
