Good morning, this is Luke Da Kook with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, April 24.

Semi-choppy

Time of Report: 8 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Knee-to-thigh.
Traffic: Not too bad.
Parking: Plenty
Dangers: Work.

*If you’re a local skater or want to help support local skaters, there’s a meeting at 5pm on the 24th (tomorrow) at Palmetto Brewing to advocate for the Bridge Spot to remain in Lowline Park. Demonstrating the strong support of Bridge Spot through a respectful presence and conversations with officials will help ensure it remains a priority. Hope to see ya out there!

Surf woke up a little bit showing thigh high clean peelers this morning at the Pier, couple longboarders having a great time. Go get wet if you can.

Winds are super light this morning forecasted to become easterly around 10-15mph

We’re approaching low tide which will be at 11:40 am. We will have high tide later at 5:54 pm

The Edisto Buoy is currently reading 2.3ft in a medium period swell period at 8 seconds out of the east/southeast

Surf again nothing crazy but a fun longboard wave on offer. Knee/Thigh high surf is in the cards for the next few days. Some unsettled weather interacting with our marine area the next few days so this size of surf should trend a few days. Nothing significant but longboardable!

Our friends over at NOAA predict, “A cold front will become stationary over or near the area today into Thursday, lifting north by Friday. A cold front will move through Saturday night or Sunday, with high pressure to build from the north early next week.”

The water temperature is around 68*. A top still feels good especially on the breezy days.

It’s currently 71* and mostly cloudy on the island. It should be a cloudy day with a bit of sun and a high of 75*

Sunrise was at 6:40 am and the sunset will be at 7:56 pm.

Thanks for tuning in for the Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
