Good morning, this is Luke Da Kook with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, April 3rd at 7am.

Semi-choppy

Time of Report: 7am
Wave Forecast: Waist-to-stomach. A bit bigger, occasionally.
Traffic: Not too bad.
Parking: Some.
Dangers: None.

Winds are light out of the southerly direction, forecasted to pick up 10-15mph later today.

We have a low tide at report time, high tide fills in at 1:02 p.m. with another low tide to finish the day at 6:57 pm.

Edisto buoy is currently reading 5.2 ft at 9 seconds in a mid  period swell from the southeast.

Surfs still showing waist high or so should improve as the tide fills in later today. High pressure keeping offshore keeping a trade swell alive for us. Moving forward a slow moving front eventually moves eastward towards our general direction and SSW wind-swell should build in towards the middle weekend. Winds will be onshore but we will have plenty of surf. Could get used to this.

Waves should pick up again later in the week…another trade swell is approaching meaning there should be a window possibly tomorrow and Friday. There could be potential going into the weekend so fingers crossed!

Our friends from NOAA predict, “Strong Atlantic pressure will then prevail into this weekend, before a cold front approaches early next week.”

The water temperature is around 65* and should warm up into the low 70s later today.

It’s currently 65* with a high of about 71* and should be a pretty sunny day.

Sunrise was at 7:05am and sunset will be at 7:40pm.

Thanks for tuning in for the Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
