Good morning, this is Luke Da Kook with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, July 9th at 8 a.m.
Surf at the pier is knee to thigh high winds are moderate WSW side-offshore overall pretty clean a decent little longboard wave out there.
Winds are West at 10 to 15 becoming SW late morning
We have a low tide at 9:24 A.m. and a high to be around 3:50 P.M.
Edisto Buoy is 1.3 at 9 seconds from the SE paired with 4.6ft at 5 seconds from the SW.
High pressure sitting well offshore the low country generating a small trade-swell and localized SW wind-swell. This should trend into the early weekend. We then have an approaching front coming in Sunday that looks to stall over our marine area. Models suggesting a weak low developing near our shoreline where NE winds can be expected to crank a bit and some building NE wind-swell can develop.
It’s a humid 83* with sunshine this morning and a high of 89* and a heat index close to 98* at the beach. It’s much hotter in town.
Water temperature It’s around 84*.
