Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Flat. Maybe knee.
Traffic: Not too bad.

Dangers: Spring break

Surf around Folly is knee high looks workable with a longboard, beautiful beach day looks to be shaping up.

Winds are currently 5 kts out of the SW with gusts of up to 8 kts. Winds pick up today out of the south at 10 kts with gusts around 18 kts.

We have a high tide at report time, Low tide this Afternoon is 2:30pm and high tide will be this evening at 8:44pm just after sunset.

Edisto buoy is reading 3.3 ft at 5 seconds in short period SSW wind-swell.

The crew over at NOAA predicts, “High pressure is expected to prevail through the end of the week. A cold front is expected to push through the region late in the weekend.”

So yes it’s Knee high or so today, but our chances for surf improve as we get into the weekend. We have some strong on shore flow starting Friday and really picks up into Saturday and Sunday. Expect wave size to increase although not too clean, but definitely some size. This should set us up for Monday when winds are forecasted to switch westerly early Monday morning and then hopefully go northwest before sunset. If all works out things could clean up.

The water temperature is around 56*

It’s currently 66* and sunny with a high of 67*. It’s a beautiful day to be on Folly.

Sunrise was at 7:33 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:25 p.m.

Thanks for tuning in for the Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
