Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, January 4 at 9 a.m.

Clean.

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Flat.
Traffic: Moderate
Parking: Plenty
Dangers: None.

Surf at Folly is once again pretty flat and freezing outside.

Winds are North-west at 10 knots

We have a high tide this morning at 10 a.m., and a low tide at 4:18 p.m.

Eddisto Bouy is reading 5.2 feet at 5 seconds in short period NW wind-swell moving away out to sea.

We have small surf in the forecast for the weekend, with south wind swell increasing briefly on Sunday afternoon into Monday, when strong winds will rotate south-west. After an Arctic cold front passage overnight Monday, we see very cold weather and offshore flow unlikely the southerly wind-swell generated will make it to the morning due to hard offshore winds Monday night. Some forecasts are calling for snow-flurries middle of next week, but it’s too far away and not really likely. So, burn up that New Year’s gym membership as we wait for cold water surf.

The water temperature is around 54*.

It’s cold this morning. In the low 40s. Look for a high in the low 50s today with sun and increasing winds.

Sunrise was at 7:23 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:26 p.m.

Thanks for tuning in for the Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
