Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop Surf report and forecast for Thursday, March 6 at 8:00 a.m.

Semi-choppy

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Waist-to-stomach. A bit bigger, occasionally.
Traffic: None
Parking: Plenty.
Dangers: Gail wind

Surf is about waist to chest high this morning, its got a little more drift to it from the SW today winds are side-offshore this morning really hard. Theirs a wave just not ideal.

Winds are strong out of the West forecasted to become more offshore WNW later today gust up to 40mph.

We have a low tide around report time,  high tide at 1:17 p.m. , another low tide at 7:19 p.m.

Edisto Bouy is reading 10.5ft from the SW at 7 seconds.

Our guys and gals at NOAA  – who we stand in solidarity with – predict: “High pressure is expected for the rest of the week. A cold front is expected to move through the area Saturday night into Sunday as low pressure develops along it.”

Surfs still showing chest high sets if you want to contend with these strong westerly winds. A decent session looks possible. Look for winds to back off in the later afternoon hours if the swell sticks around could maybe get fun! High pressure moves back in and the surf stays on the downside into our weekend timeframe. Early next week keep your eyes on a low looking to cross northern Florida out of the Gulf, for now looking like northern Florida could get pretty good. We will keep you in the loop.

The water temperature is around 55*

It’s windy as hell at the beach, with Sun. Temp is 56*.

Sunrise was at 6:45 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:20 p.m.

Thanks for tuning in for the Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
