Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, January 18 at 8:30 a.m.
Tatse of Folly is going on today and center st is already closed and become a circus. Come down to Folly for the fun and stop by and say hello!
Now is a good time to order a custom Stewart, as we’ll be placing an order this week for spring. Call us at 843-588-9175.
Surf at Folly this morning is knee-thigh high maybe a bigger set on the incoming tide in a choppy north-east wind swell.
Winds are north/north-east at 15 mph, and surf zone is very drifty down the beach and choppy.
Winds continue north-east today at 15+ knots becoming lighter later today, with choppy, drifty surf all day.
We are coming off a low tide at 8:08 a.m, and high tide is at 2:18 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is not showing a reading this morning. However Surfline has stated a 4.3 ft easterly swell showing offshore.
We have north-east winds today and a high angled north-east wind swell averaging thigh high with bigger sets on the incoming tide. The angle should start to rotate more easterly through today. Sunday sees winds from the west behind a cold front. Surf should increase some on Sunday, before getting blown down late day on Sunday, but keep an eye on the timing of the front Saturday into Sunday.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A warm front will lift through the region later today and this evening. A cold front is expected to move through late tonight into Sunday, followed by cold and dry high pressure into the middle of next week. A low pressure system could impact the region next weekend.”
It’s much colder today. It’s 49* and cloudy. Look for a high of 65* showers are possible.
Water temperature is up to 60*, but should drop down to the upper 50s over the weekend with the colder northerly flow.
Sunrise is at 7:21 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:36 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
