Time of Report: 9:00 am

Traffic: none

Dangers: none

Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, January 19 at 9:00 a.m.

Now is a good time to order a custom Stewart, as we’ll be placing an order this week for spring. Call us at 843-588-9175.

Surf at Folly this morning is knee-waist high maybe a bigger set on the incoming tide in a SSW wind-swell.

Winds are South/south-west at 15-20 mph, and surf zone is very drifty down the beach and choppy.

Winds continue SSW today at 15+ knots becoming west around noon after the front pushes through the area.

We are having a low tide at report time, and high tide is at 3:20 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is not showing a reading this morning. However Surfline has stated a 4.3 ft at 5 seconds in short period SSW wind-swell.

Its building this morning into the waist high zone with lots of drift and wind on it early. Could clean up slightly around noon and be a decent window to get wet.  This small quick shot of swell begins to fade early this afternoon into the start of the work week. Looking ahead not much action lots of North north-east swell in the Atlantic heading to Florida. Next weekend some models are showing a low develop in the gulf we will keep you posted. But for now its going to be small and cold this week!
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cold front is expected to move through this morning, followed by high pressure prevailing through the middle of the week. A low pressure system could impact the area this weekend.”

It’s cloudy with showers and 64*. Look for a high of 65* showers are possible.

Water temperature is up to 60*, but should drop down to the upper 50s over the weekend with the colder northerly flow.

Sunrise is at 7:21 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:36 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
